A brilliant and outragously funny satire of society, 7 December 1999

"Flodder" is one of the funniest movies ever made and few people realise that it is a Dutch movie made by none other than the Holland version of John Carpenter, the famous Dick Maas, author and director of the thriller "Amsterdamned". The Flodder family is the reincarnation of the term a-social. When the whole family bunch, basically all bastards, criminals and sluts must be relocated from their City slum because of toxic waste under their house, the city council house no choice. The only available space is in the "Zoendal" - the "Sun Valley" the best area in Amsterdam where all doctors, snobs and businessmen can afford to live their lives. And where the central point of interest and politics is the tennis club of the community. The Flodder family brings devastation to the tranquil world that ruled before. They are simply unbelievable. The characterisation is incredibly funny, beginning with Ma Flodder who searches other people's trash cans for food or making illegal liquor in her cellar and ending with the eldest daughter who is the biggest slut on earth. Together they make the most horrible family imaginable, a sort of immoral mirror image to the Brady Bunch or the Waltons. When the City counsel of Amsterdam hoped that the Flodders would show their good will to be more civilised in their new area, it turns out that Holland's most famous family would rather bring out the worst in the rich people of "Sun Valley"-wonderland. The rest is a hilarious, brilliant and well made social satire that can be watched as a provocative movie as well as a straightforward comedy. Dick Maas at his best. I salute him! Flooder was the Dutch smash hit in 1986 and brought two sequels and a tv series. All of the sequels were nice but not as great as the original.

Why is First Floor Features, the producer of the movie not bringing the Dick Maas blockbusters out on DVD in the Netherlands, I wonder. The are not even available on video there. These movies have so much potential, still to this day and have a huge silent but true following.
刚看前半小时就觉得“崩了”，结果只想给两星+给服装和舞蹈。不止完全没赶上1964年的经典版，还改的完全没特色，斯皮尔伯格导演能崩成这样也是没想到啊。

实话实说了吧，工人阶级的审美已经落伍了，对zjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjki 笑死正说着呢，猫过来一顿乱踩，看来她也觉得难看而很生气
灯光镜头和舞蹈都很好，不至于这么多差评。斯皮尔伯格就是纽约人呀，这是他们的西区故事，而且总算不是全员白人假扮棕色人种了这一点比过去进步。青少年帮派斗争其实在立法禁止用童工之后，于是年轻力壮的小伙子们遵从动物本能天天争夺地盘惹是生非，青少年犯罪在当代西方成为大问题。
看了大概四十分钟后我开始组织吐槽这部电影的语言，诸如人物关系，人物形象如何如何不能让我信服等等，看到九十分钟左右已经放弃了，除开“又臭又长，难看到家”没什么别的好说的。白瞎了那么好的服化道和舞蹈了。
對於原作那種美好的記憶猶新，實在不忍心給大師差評，含淚註記三星。
《西区故事》将歌舞戏放在广阔城市空间拍摄，将舞步融合于镜头的运动中，甚至于打斗戏都有歌舞编排，足见斯皮尔伯格成熟的拍摄功力，摄影质感和美术也很舒服，将当下种族矛盾等热点议题也嵌了进去，但是剧情和演员着实拖了后腿，男主继承《极盗车神》的面瘫特质，表演毫无情感张力，剧情也是非常冗长老套，悲剧内核被歌舞部分冲掉了太多。（6.5/10）
因为被那样美好的你爱着，镜子里的我才如此美丽。因为在舞会遇见美丽的你，高楼上的我才停止坠落。爱需要诚心祈祷，令平庸枯燥的生命变得充满意义。爱可以攀上窗台，让平凡无奇的世界变得星光璀璨。爱会经受不同肤色的火拼，不同帮派的殴斗，经受仇恨的枪射出的荒唐子弹，在鲜血染红的盐厂上永不消亡。
看不太出翻拍的意义，像红蓝舞蹈对决的新意，并不如旧版火红场馆里五彩斑斓的舞动来得热情高涨，特意跑去教堂的“假结婚”，也不如在裁缝店里顺手拈几个假人嘉宾们来得生动趣味。但是新版的Anita很亮眼，1961版的Anita这次回归演药店老板娘，也有点传承的意味，还有新加入的，警察局Jets们自导自演的“人生经历”那段也表达得更清晰。他们就像是布努埃尔《被遗忘的人们》里同一群恶性循环的问题少年，背后的社会才是问题。Jet Song和America都编的好好听。
Wow I guess I really don't like musicals. Why can't they be less stage-y and more dramatic like Chicago? Also there's nothing more dangerous and stupid at the same time than a gang of young men who think they are cool and serious and all they end up being are violent douchebags.
视听语言确实厉害，一开场就是一个高难度的长镜头，镜头运动行云流水，看得很爽。但是这个故事啊，也太老套了。最重要的是，作为一部歌舞片来说，斯皮尔伯格也太板正了，少了一些律动。。

最大的问题在于，在当下精神供给异常丰裕的环境里，单纯的“茱罗恋”已经无法打动我们的心，因此男女主角不被允许的爱情根本无法让人产生共鸣。所以，在选角上头一定一定要找那种特别养眼特别合观众眼缘的，否则就会让故事全盘崩坏。从头到尾观众只有一个疑问——有没搞错，他杀了她亲哥的当天，她就跟他上床？
为了学习看完了，爱看史匹堡老师讲课。//从第一个人类出现在画面里就开始有一丝丝难看了…
鏡頭、調度、美術、燈光、節奏都超水準，目不睱給。第一個鏡頭已經展示實力，絕對沒有毀經典，有些位置甚至比舊版好（最明顯的超越在Officer Krupke一曲)，且比舊版更重羅密歐與茱麗葉的意味。若要挑剔，唯有說大多數角色臉譜化（Talia Ryder只有兩場戲的確讓人有點失望）。電影主題談移民和歧視，而且大大加重Trans角色戲份，在現代電影史中有標杆作用。若來年在奧斯卡最佳導演、最佳美術，甚至最佳電影有收獲我不會意外。
斯皮尔伯格为什么要翻拍这么一个WTF的故事？？？一大早把自己从床上拽起来早餐都来不及吃饿着肚子在影院坐了仨小时，现在就是后悔，非常后悔。全片唯一的亮点可能就只有六十年代的服装了，然后歌舞部分就篮球场舞会和街面美国梦之舞还行。从大决战开始就只想提前离场，之后每个情节都是WTF，而且男女主演技还很糟糕，跟两个恋爱脑真的没法共情，你哥死了，你第一反应是啥？跟杀人凶手困觉？你好朋友死了，你刚杀了人，第一反应是啥？跟死者妹妹困觉？还要私奔？🤷♀️真是连槽都不知道要怎么吐了……
史匹堡行活儿，歌舞场面还是很丝滑的，都得益于出色的调度能力，但这个种族冲突的故事并未演绎出新意，男女主表演一般，女二还不错，几个关键场次表现出了张力。

电影拍得相当工整，大师出品，品质之选。就个人不喜欢这个故事，纽约移民区现代版罗密欧与朱丽叶~~也就算了，移民冲突矛盾这个美国标签就好不了了也不提了，故事里满山满谷智商为负的男性角色实在有碍观瞻，这是一部隐性的女权电影吧。
