The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 节奏太缓慢了 有点碎片化 不够惊悚 但是气氛营造海星
还是一部不错的低成本恐怖片。编剧的脑洞还是有的，虽然通俗的活人献祭路线（类似于部落献祭仪式）但是剧中盒子里，吞食人头的恶魔其形象设计蛮别具一格的，令人眼前一亮很独特。女主最终拯救了自己，但结局女主自身伤痛突然自愈了的伏笔，难不成女主还是被恶魔力量反噬了吗？（成为下一个“Red的哥哥”）🤔👍👍❤️❤️
這個怪物有點意思，但有點劇情太長了，比較難專心專注的看
前面气氛和铺垫都挺好的，但是为什么不搞个房子是异域空间点之类的也好啊——更有说服力！
比起单纯的鬼魂附身或邪教招魔，本片因为薛定谔理论和古古怪怪数学公式的加成，会让人对后面的剧情更加期待一些。
氛围还行，数数的点第一次出现的时候确实让人浑身一凉。剧本还是单薄了，另外女主的演技让人出戏。总体一般。
蛾怪的设计很有感觉，出来的片段很酷，喜欢。
说好的利维坦呢？？还以为能看到巨兽，结果变成数数比赛。。。
原来邻家女优都39岁了，最后上下楼梯的时候心提到了嗓子眼，可惜这结局也太膈应人了

开始的时候氛围是可以，如果以往如此讲完就好了，纯粹吓吓人挺不错的，最后结局有点不清不楚
有点泄气，桥段缺乏亮点，但从一个简单的“数数字”发散出这么诡异的概念和气氛也还算不赖吧 。
片中女主的妈妈可真讨厌 像极了现在那些视自己的孩子为私有物品的家长 不断的要求孩子顺从自己 不过最后被反杀了 哈哈哈
小强的女儿都这么老了吗？OMG。记得当初看24小时的时候，她不长这样啊！在感叹岁月无情的同时，不得不说这片有够屎的，烂俗不说，故弄玄虚才是原罪。自己讲不明白故事，就随便硬塞，其实能拍的更好的，就是不拍，就是玩儿
没我想象的惊悚，但是节奏还不错，最后一波反杀不错，还黑化了，人性啊
2星半吧，故事比较老套，前一个小时剧情沉闷，最后那盒子里的怪物形象倒是比较怪异，最后结局什么意思，女主也钻进盒子里了吗？
期待了很久以为很有创意的片子 也就这样吧 数数确实是一个自带紧张和压迫感的point

七分，很像潜伏，但是没潜伏那么刺激，电影本身恐怖镜头很少，靠音效和故事引发的猜想去撩拨人心，二手房购买需谨慎啊！
嗯，每次都会有勇士买下异常便宜的房子。女儿总是很叛逆，夫妻一定是一个人逐渐发现真相另一个说他疯了。恶魔学有点意思
