The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 虽然没有旁白，但片中读的那些书、做的那些访谈、录的那些环境音（所谓“使不朽”）、日记性质的自述、平添忧郁的黑白画面，都让人想起泰伦斯·马利克式的（故作）深沉。片中所有受访者都是真实出镜即兴发挥（包括一个后来被枪杀的叫布莱恩特的黑人小男孩），这倒挺适合方法派的华金·菲尼克斯。不知道这种亦幻亦真的骚操作是不是受了去年《无依之地》的启发。
影像很舒服。人物状态很惬意。故事很松散。不是我的菜。所以对不起。

如果不是因为不会英文，导致我得时时刻刻看着字幕的话，这其实是一部听觉部分胜过视觉部分的电影（镜头其实很棒），主要是黑白的镜头削弱了我视觉上的关注，而电影通过录影的形式，让我们可以听见孩子们的声音，我认为这是一部需要倾听的电影。

成年后兀自感到的孤独和失落可能源于已经忘记的儿时经历的不愉快，偶尔在某一刻又回忆想起，想要记录下来当时却没有纸笔，随后安慰自己算了吧，也不是什么重要的事情。
必须5星，为对待孩子，们的态度。影片角度放这么低，完全令人吃惊。
